[this place —> these people] // it calls meeeee 🎶 Wishing the weekend was closer. This is one of my favorite “work” weekends of the year. There are people I see only here but it feels like the bond grows each time. There’s something about just belonging because you are, not because you have to be a certain way. And that’s why I love it. #weekendcomenow #youarewelcomehere
[rediscover] // I am always thankful for the opportunity to sing music from my album. Those songs were birthed over many years and took me through many seasons. In studio they took on a new life and now they are in the world. I hope they’ve been bringing you much hope and solace as they have for me. If you haven’t heard it yet, check out the links in my bio for streaming on @spotify and downloading on @itunes. #thehearth. 📷: @storia.studio
[working on praying] // I’ll admit that prayer can be a struggle for me. Sometimes I’m so fixated on achieving things on my own strength that I fail to look up and see my Helper, always ready. Even in those moments of great joy, I haven’t been the first to give credit where credit is do. In this season I’m in, I’m noticing this pull of my heart to fall back in love with prayer and to recognize it’s power in my life. David and I are in the middle of an attempt on finding a house. Literally everything about this process is trying and yet it’s in this process that I’m finding my love of prayer. I started the 54 Day Novena last week for the intention of our house and boy do I have peace. Even in the craziness that ensues each day, Mother Mary has given me a place to firmly plant my feet. I know she is interceding in our behalf and it brings me so much peace. If you’re struggling with prayer like I have been, know that I am praying for you as well. If you have a special intention, please feel free to DM me or comment below and I will bring them before the Lord. #54DayNovena
[introductions] // there are a lot of new faces here and many of you I met at #wyddc! Thanks for being here and for listening to the music 🎶 Here’s a little more about me! I am an aunt to 7 littles (seventh arrives in March), a wife with a little on the way, and a sister to six awesome siblings. I love to look at big bodies of water (ocean, lake, pond, you name it) but I rarely like to go in - too frigid. Lately I’ve been getting into deep introspection to learn more about why I think the way I do, marriage invites me into that! And the enneagram has really been an insightful tool (still not sure where I gravitate yet but many things are starting to make sense to me!). I’m a dreamer by nature, love the concept of spontaneity but am learning to be a little more structured. I always dreamed of being a momma to many and now that we’re beginning that stage, I’m nervous but also very excited. I’m a #reformedcoffeeaddict as well as a #sometimesreformedcarbaddict and I love my side gig of habit coaching. I’d love to get to know you! Feel free to drop a comment and tell me about yourself or send me a message!
[confronting polarization] // such a vital topic for us as Catholics to talk about but really for ALL of us to talk about. Seek truth & be discerning. Grateful to be at this stage for #wyddc. Thanks to everyone who came out for our first set!
[this saturday] // so much going on this weekend in DC! 7+ bands, 40+ speakers, candlelit stations of the cross, authentic Panamanian food and culture, a live feed of Panama with Pope Francis and much more. Excited to celebrate #WYDPanama with you! You can grab your ticket through the link in my bio! #WYDDC
[21st] // it’s my favorite day of the month! 9 months ago I got to say yes to this man and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Crazy to imagine that 9 months is how long it takes to grow a new human and right about now, we’re birthing a new chapter of our adventure. House hunting today and hoping one of them is it! I’m feeling good about it but could always use a little extra prayer power behind us if you’re thinking of it. In December we lost the house we were to close on due to zoning issues. Clearly not the one for us. Hoping round two is the winner here 🙏🏻
[#ROOLEE] // they are speaking my language. I wish these were my anytime pants after experiencing such a luxury in pregnancy (& I’m only getting bigger). They’re doing a giveaway for a year of free clothes and who wouldn’t want that, just saying.
[WYD] // I absolutely LOVED being in Poland for the last World Youth Day but I am so excited to be stateside for this weeks events around the Diocese! Saturday I’ll be MCing a stage with the awesome @mateoth_ and I’ll also be playing songs from my album [the] Hearth. There are lots of stages, national speakers, the headliners are @thehuntsmusic and it’s just going to be a real fun time. Grab your ticket through the link in my bio and I’ll see you there!
[thankful] // I’ll admit that I was nervous about this day. For 9 months we’ve been working from home together and I was holding tightly to my time with him. But in the same vein, we knew this would be good for us. He’d have an office and steady income, and I’d have the time and space to create and spend uninterrupted time building my dreams. We both went to work and kicked butt and much to my surprise, he had an early day and was home before I knew it. This daily stroll we do, no matter the time is easily becoming my favorite time of the time. It’s our time to dream, to feel good about moving our bodies, to spend quality time and to hear each other’s hearts. Plus, check out that sky! It’s funny how something that seems so scary can turn around and show you all you’re blessed to have.
[COME] // I invite you to come to the Festival of Praise on Friday at my parish - Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City - from 7:30-9PM. As we prayed tonight for all who would come, over every pew, there was an overwhelming sense of God’s healing, the breaking off of chains, the renewing of bodies, hearts, minds and souls. If there’s a whisper in your heart, follow it to Him.
There is power
in the name of Jesus
To break every chain
[SETTLE IN] // it has been a long time coming for me to make this place feel like home. I know it’s temporary and we’re starting to look again for a place to call our own, but it’s nice to have a little slice of cozy and to give myself a place to call my own while we’re here.
[THANKS 2018] // to everyone who made this year so special. There’s so much to be thankful for and so many new and first things that happened and I’m so blessed to have met every person that I did and worked with every parish or organization. Even if you’re not pictured, please know that I look back fondly on this year and see so many faces and events that I was blessed to be a part of. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed NYE and I’ll see you in 2019!
